The
Friends of the Library are proud to manage
three unique Endowment Funds: Technology Endowment
Fund, Book Endowment Fund, and Elizabeth Seto
Memorial Endowment Fund. Each of these Funds
was designed to perpetually support the needs
of the Friends of the Library through a designated
investment fund. These funds are invested
to earn income each year, and as the value
of the endowment grows, so does the income
it generates. The income is used to support
the library, but the principal always remains
invested in order to perpetuate the fund.

BOOK ENDOWMENT FUND
(see Donation
Information below)
|
|
The longstanding Book
Endowment Fund is the fund most familiar to Friends' members.
Book plates identifying that a book was purchased through
the auspices of the BEF can be found in many of the books
currently in circulation at the library. Books considered
for purchase through the BEF are not normally purchased
through the library materials budget. Contributions to
the BEF are placed into an interest-bearing account, and
it is the interest generated from the account that funds
the purchase of "special titles of long-lasting interest
to the citizens of South Pasadena. . .".
Contributions can
be made to: Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library.
Please indicate on your check that you would like your
contribution to go to the Book Endowment Fund. The mailing

ELIZABETH
SETO MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT FUND
(see
Donation Information
below)
|
|
The Elizabeth Seto
Memorial Endowment Fund was established in 2001 to remember
Elizabeth Seto and to honor her love of books
and community. The fund was established by Elizabeth’s
family to provide annual interest income toward the purchase
of books for the children’s collection. Over the past
10 years, more than 400 books have been purchased in Elizabeth’s
memory and are enjoyed daily by hundreds of children.
